At Secret Harbour Electrical, in collaboration with Western Power, we offer the installation of an underground supply point, facilitating the transition from an overhead service cable (the line from the power pole to your home) to an underground pole-to-pillar connection. This process entails Western Power installing an underground cable from the power pole to a pillar, typically situated at the front of your residence. Subsequently, Secret Harbour Electrical handles the installation of a mains cable from your pillar to your meter box, ensuring a seamless connection.

At Secret Harbour Electrical, we are pleased to oversee all underground power projects, whether they involve domestic properties, subdivisions, or commercial ventures. Teaming up with Western Power, we handle all the necessary paperwork on your behalf. Western Power mandates that all electricity connections be underground, particularly for newly subdivided properties where both the new connection and associated connections must be placed underground.
Transitioning to underground power offers numerous advantages. It enhances security during storms compared to overhead connections, eliminates the need for tree maintenance near overhead lines, and can enhance the visual appeal of your property.
Effective from July 7, 2017, Western Power has revised its charges for pole-to-pillar installations. Previously, Western Power subsidized the cost of underground power lines to achieve a target of 50% underground lines in the metro area. Currently, Perth boasts approximately 65% underground coverage, resulting in increased prices. The new rates stand at $3400 for properties on the same side of the road as the power lines and $4900 for those on the opposite side. Additionally, you will be responsible for covering the connection costs with your electrician.
